ADM

IT Installations

May - August 2023 • Decatur, IL

What I liked

I loved my time at ADM this summer for an internship. The team I was on welcomed me in and helped me through every step of the way. They made me feel like I had been there for years rather than just arriving.

What I wish was different

I wish my internship could have been longer. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Advice

One piece of advice that I would share to any other students looking to do an internship or are in an internship, is make the most out of it. Take every opportunity that you can to learn from your work peers and the higher-ups. You can get loads of valuable information from these people.

Nutrition Product Development Intern

June - August 2021 • Erlanger, KY

What I liked

Great exposure to lab work in the food/flavor industry Responsible for taking on a valuable project and presenting work to leaders of the company Exposure to a variety of roles and environments within the company Managers are super supportive of your goals and always ask for feedback to improve the program

What I wish was different

Some miscommunication between national HQ and individual sites made the onboarding and training process a little confusing Would have liked interview to be conducted in person or over zoom rather than via recorded videos

Advice

This experience is what you make of it. Talk to as many people as you can about their educational/professional background, ask for advice, seek out opportunities that are not already incorporated into the program. Nobody knows what you want to experience unless you ask, and more often than not your request will be granted. The more you put in, the more you will get out,.

Commodity Merchandising Intern

May - August 2017 • Beech Grove, IN

What I liked

They offered opportunities for professional development, education and growth. It was hands on learning in a real world environment, and I was trusted to make business decisions for the company (within reason). Everyone I worked with were very helpful and were great people.

What I wish was different

Some of the work I was given was very menial and was clearly work they had saved for the intern to do. Also, midway through the summer, they had company wide layoffs that affected every single person in the company in some way, including the workload that I was given to compensate for firings.

Advice

Be open to new experiences and allow yourself to take every opportunity possible to learn and explore new things.
