A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As an Engineering Intern - Mechanical, you’ll work under the guidance of the department manager and lead engineers to support a variety of exciting projects. Your day might include assisting with hardware and software testing, managing critical engineering data, writing automation scripts, and participating in hands-on assembly and debugging of advanced systems. This is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in a collaborative and innovative engineering environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Support Engineering Projects: Assist engineers with new and existing hardware/software development projects, including testing and debugging fully functional products.
- Manage Engineering Data: Edit and manage SolidWorks parts in PDM and maintain parts databases to ensure accurate documentation and version control.
- Develop Tools & Automation: Create cable pinout spreadsheets and write test automation software and scripts to improve test efficiency.
- Test & Validate Systems: Support hardware and software integration testing; track and document test errors and results.
- Conduct Research & Reporting: Perform research, collect and analyze data, conduct experiments, and submit daily technical reports.
- Collaborate & Learn: Work alongside experienced engineers to gain exposure to the full lifecycle of product development—from concept through testing and iteration.
- Adapt & Contribute: Perform other technical and project support duties as assigned to meet team and project goals.
YOU’RE AWESOME AT:
- Hands-On Technical Support: Supporting engineering teams through assembly, debugging, and test execution of integrated hardware and software systems.
- Organizing Data: Managing and maintaining parts databases and using engineering tools like SolidWorks PDM efficiently.
- Problem Solving & Automation: Developing scripts and tools to streamline testing and identifying and tracking software/hardware errors.
- Team Collaboration: Communicating effectively with engineers and contributing ideas to improve existing methods and processes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Enrollment as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college/university.
- Pursuing a STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math).
- Enrolled full-time for the current or upcoming Fall or Spring semester.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial transcripts required upon application).
- Previous internship experience in Aerospace is a plus.
- Willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The pay rate for this position is $22 per hour.
