Speech-Language Pathologist

We are hiring for two Speech-Language Pathologists for Communication Works to work within the San Jose Unified School District. The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides prevention, assessment, and therapeutic intervention to students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders. The SLP works as part of an interdisciplinary team to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development. 

Required Skills:

  • Master's Degree in speech-language pathology
  • Current CA SLP license, credential or eligibility
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Tuberculosis (TB) clearance

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for students with speech and language impairments.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with educational teams. 
  • Deliver direct and consultative services in individual or group settings. 
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed. 
  • Provide guidance and resources to teachers, staff, and families to support student communication in academic environments. 
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams for evaluations, goal setting, and IEP meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, progress notes, and reports in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Assist with Response to Intervention (RTI) and participate in screening or early identification programs
