Civil Engineer in Training - Williston, ND
Utilizing knowledge in the field of Civil/Environmental Engineering, the Engineer in Training will coordinate all technical aspects as assigned by the Project Manager which may include pipelines, storage tanks, pump stations, treatment systems, rural water, and municipal facilty projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to those looking to grow in the field and gain experience towards becoming a Project Manager.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Perform construction observation and administration on water and municipal related projects
- Assist Project Manager with the development and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates
- Assist project managers in design and construction of pipelines, storage tanks, pump stations, city streets, city water and sewer infrastructure, and municipal facilities
- Assist professional surveyors with field work on crews performing data gathering for designs or construction staking
- Assist in preparation of technical reports
- Occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
- Occasional travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel as required
- Civil engineering experience related to municipal and rural water projects
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of construction experience or engineering based construction observation and administration experience
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
- Experience working on civil engineering related projects
