About:
The National Health Corps (NHC) is a public health-focused AmeriCorps National Service program that aims to improve health outcomes for all with health and wellness education, benefits, and services, while developing tomorrow's compassionate health leaders. NHC members receive a living allowance* and other benefits.

The NHC San Francisco program is seeking members to serve with the following clinics and organizations (hereafter referred to as Host Sites):
- Curry Senior Center (3)
- HealthRIGHT 360 (2)
- Sonrisas Dental Health (San Mateo County) (2)
- San Francisco Department of Public Health – Dental Services and Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (2)
- San Francisco Health Network Food Pharmacy – Food As Medicine Collaborative (2)
- San Francisco Department of Public Health – Value-Based Care Team (2)
- San Francisco Department of Public Health – Whole Person Integrated Care Team (2)

Responsibilities:
NHC AmeriCorps Members may have a variety of responsibilities at their Host Sites which include:
- Developing and delivering community health intervention workshops
- Helping older adults use technology to improve their health
- Connect new and existing patients to Medicated Assisted Treatment providers for people with opioid and prescription drug overuse disorders.
- Distributing fresh produce and providing nutrition education to health center patients
- Outreach and screening of potential participants, supporting on-site preventive and urgent health care, providing connections to primary care.
- Participating in COVID-19 vaccine distribution, case investigation, contact tracing, and client education
NHC AmeriCorps Members, in addition to the above Host Site responsibilities, will:
- Partake in monthly/semi-monthly training and professional development sessions around public health knowledge and practice skills.
- Collect data and assess quality of services provided to patients/clients to improve services throughout and beyond their service term.
- Participate in professional development committees addressing communications, teambuilding, recruitment, service, and training at NHC.
- Contribute to program-wide communications efforts by writing blogs/creating vlogs and sharing their experiences through NHC social media.
- Volunteer with local organizations to serve the community outside of Host Site responsibilities.

Requirements:
Interested applicants must meet the following:
- Be at least 18+ years old at the start of their Service Term.
- Have obtained a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Be a U.S. national or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- Cannot have completed 4+ prior AmeriCorps Service Terms.

Additional Information:
- Living Allowance and Transportation Benefits vary by Program Location.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin is helpful, but not required. All applicants are highly encouraged to apply, regardless of language fluency.
