Field Service Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Specialist to join our dynamic team at the U.S. subsidiary of an European manufacturing group specializing in multi-axis machining and robotics systems.
This position is based out of our Baltimore area office and reports directly to the head of the U.S. subsidiary. The role involves responsibilities across North America, with a focus on customer satisfaction and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Installation, Maintenance, and Upgrades:
Install, set up, and upgrade multi-axis machines (3 to 5 axes) and robotic systems at customer facilities.
Perform preventive maintenance, ensuring optimal machine performance by following detailed checklists and assessing overall equipment health.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
Commissioning New Equipment:
Conduct on-site commissioning of new machines and systems at customer locations.
Address and solve mechanical challenges during the setup process.
Train customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment, ensuring they are confident and competent users.
Customer Support:
Deliver exceptional customer service via phone, email, and on-site visits.
Provide troubleshooting, machine optimization, and upgrade support to customers.
Reporting and Relationship Building:
Draft detailed intervention reports and follow-up summaries for each service visit.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by collecting and sharing relevant information, contributing to trust and effective communication.
Qualifications:
6 months to 3 years of experience in a mechanical field, preferably in CNC machine maintenance.
Strong mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of electrical drawings.
Specialized knowledge of 5-axis machines or robotic systems.
Proficiency in CNC machine setup, tuning, and operation.
Familiarity with SOLIDWORKS is a plus.
Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time within the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Must be a US citizen.
