Engineering Summer Interns in Redwood City, CA
We are seeking Junior and masters-level students majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering or related field for a 12-Week Student Intern role with 2 openings in Redwood City, CA for a May 19th - August 8th contract period.
Position Duties:
This posting applies to the below 2 projects at AZ's Redwood City, CA site:
Facilities Engineering Project:
Support Facilities team day to day activities such as reviewing and analyzing data, troubleshooting equipment issues, and performing problem solving.
Complete a facilities related project such as equipment design analysis.
Support developing or updating digital dashboards using PowerApps, PowerBI, etc.
Manufacturing Engineering Project:
Track, trend, and analyze in-process data using statistical process control (SPC) methods.
Support process improvement/scale-up activities for capacity, create and execute protocol/report and data analysis, perform equipment reliability assessments.
Position Requirements:
- Junior and masters-level students majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering or related field.
- Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2025. This role is intended to fit into a student's Summer break.
- Experience leading or completing a school or other projects are preferred.
- Data Analytics/ Visual Management using tools such as Spotfire, SQL, Power Bi/ Power Apps
- Knowledge of and ability to read P&IDs and other technical information and incorporate into user, facility, and equipment specifications
- Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.
- US Work Authorization is required at time of application.
- This role will not be providing CPT/OPT support.
- Ability to report onsite to Redwood City, CA 5 days a week. This role will not provide relocation assistance, local candidates by residency or schooling will be prioritized.
- Minimum grade point average of 3.0
