Maintenance/Facilities Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

Team Description: The Largo Facilities and Maintenance Teams are primarily responsible for all Factory/Building Infrastructure, Utilities Systems, and Production Equipment maintenance and repair.
Learning Outcomes:
- Achieve a general understanding of critical Utilities Systems such as Building Electrical Systems, Chilled Water HVAC System, and Compressed Dry Air (CDA) System.
- Construction/Engineering Project Management basics.
- Basics of Preventative Maintenance program.
- Exposure to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Collaboration and Communication – Work alongside engineers, technicians, machinists, supervisors, and others to solve day-to-day challenges of the production environment.
Intern Impact: The candidate will be an essential resource to drive completion of critical Facilities, Maintenance and EHS Projects.
Intern Responsibilities:
- 500 Chiller replacement project management (co-lead with guidance from Facilities Manager)
- Roof Top AC Unit replacement (co-lead with guidance from Facilities Manager).
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Event (co-lead with guidance from Senior Principal Maintenance Technician)
- L2L CMMS Transition. Support Senior Principal Maintenance Technician in transitioning to L2L Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Lead Alcohol distillation system installation project.
Position Requirements:
- Pursuing completion of a bachelors or master’s degree in a related field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other major engineering discipline (e.g. Chemical, Industrial, Civil, etc.).
- Must be available to work onsite 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday in Largo, FL throughout the internship program (May 19 – August 8, 2025)
This position is not eligible for employer-visa sponsorship.
Disclosure as required by applicable law, the hourly pay rate for this position is $15.00 to $30.00. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED’s good faith belief at the time of this posting.
