Internship Program - Equipment Division 2024 - 2025
Overview
Walsh is currently seeking Summer 2025 Interns for our Chicago Equipment Division.
Our internship program will prepare you for leadership positions both on and off the jobsite. Our program allows you to travel across the United States and through operational divisions to gain hands-on experience in project engineering and field management. We carefully match you with positions related to your academic and career goals, setting you up for the right career path after graduation. Our interns work on jobsites or in the office helping with pursuits in our estimating and preconstruction departments.
Responsibilities
Interns will work full-time, 40 hours a week over a course of 12 weeks. Some duties and responsibilities include:
- Work with Dealers OEM’s & Vendors with Repair Authorization process from open to close
- Work with OEM’s to manage Product Improvement Program updates to equipment
- Assist Equipment Managers or Regional Equipment Manager with requesting OEM Warranty and Post warranty claims
- Transfer machines in and out of repair status
- Provide weekly status updates of repairs and review with Quality Manager, Dir Equipment Operations, and Regional Equipment Manager
- Assist with processing Repair Authorization events
- Review and approve Inter-regional transfers and Site Storage requests
- Review equipment pictures and inspection forms for accuracy, damage, or services that may be needed prior to the equipment leaving the jobsite
- Produce and distribute inspection list report to all Managers
- Review and process new equipment check lists
- Assist with managing and distributing preventative maintenance reports
- Upload & maintain all paperwork for preventative maintenance events and from project sites
- Print oil sample labels and ship bottles to lab for testing
- Assist with managing national vendor accounts and maintain relationships with vendors
- Assist with any special projects that come up in the course of business
Qualifications
- Seeking a bachelor’s degree is preferred
- The ability to work a 12-week work schedule is preferred
- Specific roles may require relocation
