Project Engineer (Water/Wasterwater)

As a project engineer, you will work with other engineers, designers and other staff to plan, design, and oversee construction on projects including components of water and wastewater treatment, water resources planning, municipal engineering, resource recovery and renewable energy, among others.

Qualifications  

Education: Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering 

Experience: 0 - 5 years of experience.  Strong understanding of water, wastewater, chemical, and/or renewable energy process planning, design, and construction engineering experience. 

Water Project Engineer: 

Understanding of Federal, State and Local regulatory agency rules and regulations  

Experience with project funding options through both local and federal agencies 

Experience with client marketing efforts and proposal development 

Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills (e.g., negotiation, listening, cooperation, tact, diplomacy) to build strong relationships.  Capable of working efficiently with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal staff.  

Leadership and project management skills (e.g., planning, organizing, controlling, and leading teams and being a team player).  Ability to lead and mentor junior staff. 

Strong written and verbal communication skills (e.g., fluency in report writing and presentations). 

Quantitative skills (e.g., analytical, technical, problem solving). 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS software, and in a variety of hydraulic and hydrologic computer modeling programs. 

Attitude: Must have a positive, can-do attitude that embraces challenges and opportunities 

Work Ethic: Committed to work hard and smart as team player
