Marine & Waterfront Staff Engineer

Where would you step in? 
As a valuable member of our Land Use & Transportation team, you will work on a variety of projects for our New England clients. You will sit in our Portsmouth, NH office and will work in a hybrid office/remote/field model, including flex-time summer Fridays. 

Our Land Use Team & Projects
With nearly 100 professional engineers, our senior technical and project management leaders have earned an outstanding reputation with private, state, and local government clients who are also recipients of multiple ACEC Engineering Excellence and ASCE Project Awards. We assist clients from the initial conceptual planning stages of a project through schematic design, design development, permitting, construction documents, bidding, and construction oversight. Well versed in local, state, and federal regulations, as well as ever evolving climate change impacts and concerns, we strive to incorporate sustainability and resiliency into our site plans and designs.

What will you be doing? 
You will play a key role in assisting with a variety of projects such as port, pier, dock, and industrial waterfront facility infrastructure improvements; seawalls; revetments; shoreline restoration; bulkheads; inspections; geotechnical investigations; retaining walls; fendering systems; pile-supported structures; boat ramps; and a variety of other geo-structural projects. You will also be designing and computer modeling, preparing technical specifications and cost estimates, preparing reports and correspondence, observing construction, supervising contractors, performing shop drawing and submittal review, and creating as-builts and record plans.

What do you need? 
You will need a BS degree in Civil Engineering, and you must plan to complete the FE and eventually the PE exam. 1-4 years of experience survey, site engineering, design, permitting, and/or construction observation as well as experience with design software would be helpful.

Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors; the salary range for this position is typically $70,000 - $88,000.
