Air Resources Engineer

The Testing Operations Support Section (TOSS) is seeking a highly motivated staff to oversee the vehicle procurement process and manage various contracts and procurement activities. TOSS provides technical support and contract management services to the California Air Resources Board (CARB)'s Southern California Headquarters (SCHQ) and Depot Park Facility (DPF). Under general direction of an Air Resources Supervisor 1, the incumbent is responsible for the development and management of the vehicle procurement process, maintenance service contracts and procurement activities, provide logistical support and coordination for scheduled and unscheduled equipment service events, assessment and recommendation of technical proposals, and general support of vehicle testing operations, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical meetings, and to engage in public outreach.

Working Conditions

 

This position is not currently eligible for telework. The incumbent will be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.  

  • Requires being stationary, consistent with office work, for extended periods.
  • Standard office environment (artificial lighting, controlled temperature, etc.).  
  • Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.
  • Duties require participation in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
  • Requires repetitive movement of heavy objects.
