Project Engineer
Shimp Engineering is a full-service design, planning, and engineering firm based in Charlottesville, Virginia. We provide these services to a diverse client base throughout Central Virginia.
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have work experience in the following areas:
- Infrastructure Design
- Land Development Planning
- Regulatory Compliance Site Analysis
- Documentation and Reporting
Job Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting project managers in the planning and design of land development projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
- Communicate effectively internally with project team and senior engineering staff and externally with clients
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to land use, zoning, environmental impact, and building codes.
- Conduct site feasibility studies and analysis to assess the suitability of land for development, considering factors such as topography, soil composition, drainage, and environmental impact.
- Prepare engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and other documentation required for regulatory approvals and project documentation.
