Facilities (Building Science) Intern (2025)

Terracon is looking for students in the civil, architectural or construction engineering degree program who are interested in an internship, in the summer of 2025. Internships run from May-August. Co-Op opportunities are also available, which will run from May to December. We have opportunities in many of our office locations across the US.
In Terracon’s intern program you will experience exciting, fun and meaningful work as you work along-side some of the brightest minds and state of the art technology in the consulting industry. You will not only learn and advance technically but will also be provided with opportunities for professional development. You will be assigned a leader/mentor in the Facilities consulting field who will teach you about consulting as a profession, building science technical subjects, and be local resource for your internship location.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in a cohort. The cohort is a way for you to connect with other interns across the company, and learn about their experiences. This is also a great way for you to start building your professional network! At the end of the summer, your cohort will present to our executive leadership team.

Your experiences will include learning, understanding, and performing services related to:

  • Building Enclosure Consulting for new and existing buildings
  • Structural Diagnostics
  • MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Consulting
  • Property Condition Assessments
  • Facility Assessments

During the internship, you can expect to:

  • Support testing teams
  • Provide assistance to other field and/or office personnel
  • Support design phase drawing review, development, and analysis
  • Shadow consultants on construction site visits and meetings
  • Assists technicians or professional staff on routine tasks 

To Qualify:
High school diploma and currently enrolled in an Architectural or Engineering or Construction Science or similar program, and obtain a 3.0 G.P.A. or better.  The ideal candidate will have more than one year remaining to complete their BS degree
