The Division of Drinking Water is recruiting for a Water Resource Control Engineer to work in the Program Management Branch, Recycled Water Unit. The position currently reports to 1001 I St. Sacramento, CA 95814, however, it may be filled at any Division of Drinking Water Field Office location throughout California:

  • Bakersfield,
  • Richmond,
  • Glendale,
  • Santa Ana,
  • San Diego,
  • Carpenteria,
  • Redding,
  • Fresno,
  • Lodi,
  • Monterey,
  • Sacramento,
  • San Bernardino, or
  • Santa Rosa

AND

Under the close supervision of a Senior Sanitary Engineer in the Recycled Water Unit, the incumbent will perform varied and complex technical and analytical tasks.

Duties:

The Water Resource Control Engineer (WRCE) is expected to work independently, communicate effectively, and manage multiple tasks. Daily proficient utilization of office equipment and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. The WRCE will maintain consistent and regular attendance, communicate effectively (orally and in writing if both appropriate) in dealing with the public and/or other employees; develop and maintain knowledge and skill related specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment; complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance, leave, and conduct.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
