Electrical Engineer (Entry Level) - SEAL - Open Rank (Hybrid)

PROJECT/UNIT DESCRIPTION
The Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory's (SEAL) Command, Control, and Communications Division (C3D) is looking for a researcher to conduct electrical engineering tasks including board design, circuit design, electrical analysis and troubleshooting, embedded development, modeling, and electromagnetic design/analysis. C3D focuses on the ideation and implementation of advanced tactical communications hardware including flightworthy fielded assets. The division supports work across the Department of Defense (DoD) to bring next-generation command and control solutions to the warfighter.

JOB PURPOSE
The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, and tests electronic circuits fabricated to support a wide range of programs. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer utilizes electrical circuit design and analysis tools to layout and model circuit performance. The Electrical Engineer also guides assembly, test, and integration of electronic circuits as well as tests, analyzes, and diagnoses malfunctions in existing hardware. Furthermore, the Electrical Engineer researches component and material specifications and assembly and manufacturing methods for electronic circuits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop electronic circuits and assemblies under the supervision of senior engineering staff to meet task requirements.
  • Test and troubleshoot circuits for operational readiness.
  • Generate documentation of hardware design and theory of operation
     

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • The ideal candidate will be interested in working in technical areas that include RF applications, analog and digital circuit design, systems analysis, and digital communications.
  • The ideal candidate will be expected to participate in the execution of multiple simultaneous projects, supporting their team’s assigned technical tasks, and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Tasking will be assigned to leverage the existing skills of the candidate, to include applicable subsets of analog and digital hardware design, embedded software, RF design up to 10 GHz, modeling and simulation, testbed development, and subsystem test.
     

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited degree program relevant to this position will be considered. The candidate must have a graduation date of no later than May 2024.
  • Experience with analog and/or digital hardware design including PCB layout.
  • Knowledge and experience with RF and electronics test.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with digital communications.

  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
