Dr. Cini Brown’s lab is hiring two research assistants to help graduate student Lauren Myers with setting up and maintaining a greenhouse study of the effects of a pre-emergence herbicide on germination of native and invasive species. The successful applicants will also perform data collection and will have the opportunity to gain experience with data summary and analysis. Worker protection standard training and pesticide handler training will be provided, which will build your employment competencies. Occasional fieldwork may be needed. The opportunity to learn to operate a liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometer is possible. This job will grow your skill sets and future employment potential and give you the opportunity to address critical questions important to land managers in the Colorado Front Range. Two positions are available, 10-20 hours/week, flexible hours. Some weekend work will be required. Long hours in hot greenhouse conditions may be needed at critical points in the study.

Minimum qualifications

  • Completion of university coursework in biology, plant science, or related fields

  • Interest in plant biology, ecology, restoration ecology, and/or weed science
