Secondary Choir Teacher

Position:                Secondary (6-12) Vocal/Choir Music Teacher

Duties:                   Provide vocal music instruction to secondary (6-12) choir students at Powell High School and Powell Middle School.  Provide instruction and leadership to students participating in the High School and Middle School choir programs.

Qualifications:       

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree
  • Qualified for a Standard Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Music Education K-12 as issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board
  • Team oriented; strong work ethic; history of professional growth; demonstrated ability to work effectively with professional team at the secondary level, with parents, and with administration
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, work effectively with, and relate to secondary students of different age/ability levels and with varying level of skill
  • Interest and experience in building/continuing strong music program
  • Successful teaching/student teaching experience in vocal music -- at secondary school level preferred
  • Knowledge/Experience in Professional Learning Communities (PLC)

Salary:                   District Salary Schedule (2023-2024 Base = $51,500.00) 

Employment Term:     Full-time – 185 day contract

Beginning Date:          2024-2025 reporting date for new staff – August 15, 2024
