Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer

Join the dedicated team at Autoliv as a Quality Engineer in our Ogden, UT facility and play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of quality for safety systems that save lives every day.
 

The Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the quality management system (QMS) and ensuring that all products meet the rigorous standards of Autoliv and its customers. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to continuously improve process efficiencies, reduce defects, and prevent quality issues.

What you'll do:
• Identifies risk, analyzes them, elevates to the correct level of management, suggests corrective actions, verifies closure of open issues 
•Analyzes any product non conformities in order to solve issues and verify customer or Autoliv concerns
• Coordinates the disposition and hold of all suspect product 
• Updates Control Plans and ensures that quality planning documentation is always updated JBS (Job Breakdown Sheet), DIS (Daily Inspection Sheet), TPA (Temporary Process Authorization), PFMEA, SWI (Standard Work Instruction), Visual aids, MVP, Gages.
• Initiates AS412 inspections and reviews and dispositions suspect product and determines further actions 
• Implements statistical controls in processes as applicable
• Actively involved in Zero Defects workshops ,PFMEA Go and See and Fix in serial production 
• Determines root cause for products, processes and materials that do not meet standards.
• Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
• Conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. 
• Other duties as assigned

What is required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or relevant role
• Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
• Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
• Good knowledge of MS Office 
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
• Attention to detail and a results-driven approach
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage cross-functional team projects
• Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)
