We Are Seeking

Someone who is eager to learn how we in Gilbert exemplify our mission to Anticipate. Create. And Help People. An innovative student who is pursuing a degree within a STEM field; Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and is eager to learn the ropes in municipal work! We partner with Gilbert teams in Public Works, Engineering, IT, Development Services, Water Resources and more to place capable interns!

We’re looking for someone who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level program in a STEM field and who will work with us during the summer semester (approximately May 28th – August 15th). Internship hours are 15 hours minimum and 20 hours maximum per week (we will provide flexibility with school schedules). Interns may be considered for hybrid work depending on department assignments, but reliable transportation is required.

You possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups to build a collaborative environment.
  • Competence in resolving conflict through critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Adaptability to changing procedures and policy direction.
  • Ability to work with minimal to no supervision, self-motivated.

You’ll have the opportunity to:
 

  • Shadow and train in a variety of tasks.
  • Tackle new projects and offer ideas.
  • Gain exposure to innovative work practices.
  • Research, conduct program analysis, and provide customer service.
