Controls Engineer III

Attributes of typical Enterprise Automation projects:

  • Industries served include water/wastewater, chemical, life sciences, and manufacturing
  • Clients have mission critical facilities, processes, or plants where reliability is key
  • Medium to large size SCADA applications to control and monitor industrial equipment and processes, typical components include: 10-30 virtualized computers, 4+ layered networks, 1-50 field controllers, redundant data servers, data streams to business systems
  • EA’s solutions are highly documented
  • Project sizes from $50k to $3M, 1 month to 3 years in duration
  • Engineers typically have 1 to 4 projects active at a given time

 

Control Engineer III responsibilities and expectations:

  • Graduate our industry leading 5-week paid training program, EA University
  • Meet or exceed annual billable target
  • Perform all work in accordance with company engineering practices and quality methodologies
  • Systems thinking, clearly articulating wider impacts of technical decisions
  • Be subject matter expert consultant within client and team interactions
  • Proactively, clearly, and routinely communicate with team members and managers
  • Engineering services provided include: consulting, design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Disciplined using EA's methodology yielding industry leading quality and reliability
  • Execute projects that meet EA's expectations in within project scope and budget
  • Provides technical mentorship, training, and support to other team members
  • Be proactive in recognizing project risk

 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Industry experience of 5-10 years. Controls engineering experience preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering is a must. Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical preferred
  • Experience in Electrical/Instrumentation/CSI master format specifications and the design, implementation, and commissioning of networking, low voltage panel, SQL/database, virtualization, PLC, HMI is preferred
  • Clear communication, both verbal and written is mandatory
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning and organization habits, consistent follow through
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Process control and/or automation experience is preferred
