Entry-Level Analytical Chemist

Wage: $24.00 to $28.00/hour based on experience


The Company: PrimusLabs, a global leader in food safety for the fresh produce industry is in search of an Entry Level Anaytical Chemist to support our team in Santa Maria, CA. We offer
dynamic solutions from laboratory testing, field sampling, and supply chain management throughout the produce world. 

About the Position: Immediate full-time opening. Training provided. Clean DMV record required (DMV record must be submitted before the assignment starts). Must have a flexible schedule, shift needed is Tuesday-Friday 10 am-6:30 pm + Saturday 9 am-6 pm 

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related field
• Knowledge of LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, GC-MS, GC
• Excellent Math and computer skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask
• Excellent work ethic, self-motivated
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Quick to learn
• Good record-keeping of client interactions
• Ability to lift 35 lbs

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preform routine pesticide residue testing and analysis of foods and environmental samples
• Utilize analytical techniques and instrumentation such as tandem mass spectrometers in gas and liquid
chromatography, single quadrupole mass spectrometers, and other specific detectors
• Perform calibration and maintenance on instruments to ensure it is operating within set guidelines
• Resolve/separate, identify and quantify unknowns and target compounds accurately by utilizing available
instrumentation
• Verify and validate new analytical methods especially for non-routine work
• Follow & perform Quality Control (QC) procedures - run QC samples as described in the QC schedule.
• Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) and test methods
• Utilize good laboratory practices and safety within the laboratory
