Intern - Manufacturing Operations
Position Overview
Assists Operations Manager and Lean Process Managers with projects, process improvements, and operations administration.
Essential Functions
Function: Lean/Continuous Improvement Projects
- Time study existing processes and make recommendations to update our current systems to new time standards.
- Implement improvement ideas generated by process improvement system.
- Work with Plant Technicians to get feedback on process improvements.
- Assist manufacturing engineers with improvement of current processes including plant layout changes.
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding project status.
Function: Operations Support
- Engage in safety audits and incident investigations.
- Perform safety observations.
- Assist with investigating quality issues.
- Attend some management meetings.
Qualifications
Education
- Must be a current Junior or Senior student working towards a Bachelor’s degree with engineering, operations, supply chain or business focus.
Experience
- Previous manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint a benefit).
- Blueprint reading.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Willingness to do hands on work.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail orientated with the ability to follow multiple projects through to completion.
