Product Management Intern

 Job Summary
Responsible for working with the product management team to explore emerging markets, test products, and help justify new products for development. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for aiding in product line positioning research, data collection & segmentation analysis.
  2. Responsible for aiding in identifying and prioritizing critical customer needs for current and future products by conducting market research.
  3. Responsible for aiding in performing market and competitive analysis.
  4. Responsible for aiding in win / loss data mining and analysis.
  5. Responsible for aiding in product performance testing and product compatibility testing.


Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Job requires a technical school or trade certificate requirement OR 2 years of directly relevant job experience if the candidate has no schooling OR a combination of schooling and experience that is equivalent to a technical school graduate or trade certificate recipient.  Certifications of skills required for this job.

 

It is desired that they have completed at least the last semester of their sophomore year in business, engineering, or product development program OR have comparable experience working in a technical field, managing business, or in business analytics. Other programs such as that include Applied Geographic Information Science (GIS) work may also be considered as these include data analytics skills. 
 

Basic computer skills are required including expertise and experience in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and an ability to learn and interact with MRP/ERP and CRM systems.  Experience in the rugged mobile computing and/or field data collection industry a plus.  

 

Working Conditions
This is a part-time position that requires at least 20 hours per week. Schedule will be determined by class schedule. This position requires sitting for extended periods of time and use of hands.  Must be able to see, speak, and type.
