Tunnel and Trenchless Engineering Intern - Summer 2024

Your Opportunity

The Walnut Creek, California, office of Stantec is seeking a full or part-time Engineering Intern to join our multi-disciplinary team of integrated water professionals, each committed to delivering sound and strategic consulting services to a range of local, regional, state and federal clients.

Your Key Responsibilities

Gain experience in various areas including California water-related infrastructure including tunnel and trenchless projects.

Participate in multi-disciplinary teams on water projects throughout California and the western U.S.

Conduct technical evaluations supporting planning and design of water infrastructure projects.

Coordinate with project managers, project engineers and staff, clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors.

Perform project administration including preparation of reports, gathering information, design, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence and completing progress reports.

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders.

Education and Experience

In progress towards completing a Bachelors degree or earning a master’s degree in civil/geological engineering, geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, or structural engineering, with a minimum of 4 years of related undergraduate coursework or work experience.

Experience with geotechnical engineering or tunnel/trenchless design.

Salary Range(s):

  • SF Area $21.91 Per hour - SF Area $32.21 Per hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
