HID’s Human Resource Department: 

HID Global is a leader in government security and strong authentication solutions.  We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Engineering Intern to join our summer internship program for 16 weeks in Fort Lauderdale, FL. As an intern with us, you will gain hands-on experience while working alongside your dedicated mentor and building connections with various other team members. This intern could work on one or more of a variety of projects including software use interface design & enhancements, improvements to software test automation infrastructure, and more!


As our Engineering Intern, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

 

  • Collaborating with developers, test, and other full time engineering personnel
  • Understanding and clarifying software requirements
  • Developing test cases & product knowledge
  • Creating scripts, software tools, and potentially hardware tools to assist with automated product testing infrastructure
  • Executing manual and automated tests
  • Assisting with debugging and error case reproduction
  • Documenting product defects and test fixes

  • Course work involving software development, or other technology-related product development
  • Ability to clearly describe (verbally and written) technical information
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, and analysis skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to independently solve problems

 

Your Experience and Education include:        

     

  • Actively studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar for at least two years but no more than four years.
  • Experience with software development, computer programming, and basics of development environments
  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, etc.
  • Experience with distributed version control systems (such as Git)
  • Familiar with software development tools (IDEs)
