Position Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and skilled technician (Tech B position) to work in the lab of Dr. Liao at Columbia University Medical Center. The laboratory is focused on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative disorders using advanced microscopy and biochemistry assays in cellular and mouse models. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • The candidate must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related sciences or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • preferred emphasis in biology or neuroscience. 
  • The candidate should possess relevant laboratory experience. 
  • The candidate is preferably skilled in in vivo work with rodents and primary neuronal cell isolation and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate the dysregulated of RNA metabolism and protein secretion in animal models of neurodegenerative disorder.
  • Work with a postdoc and be directly supervised by the principal investigator.
  • Perform in vivo work with rodents, primary neuronal culture, immunohistochemistry, and a variety of molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in in vivo work with rodents is preferred.
