Oxy is looking for entry-level individuals pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering to fill a position in a Process Engineering Rotational Program. The program will develop technical excellence and allow employees to gain strategic experience within different business units to staff positions across the organization. The program will provide a broad overview of Oxy assets to big-picture, strategic thinking Chemical Engineers to meet tomorrow’s needs and build for the future. The program offers talented individuals the opportunity to build broad business and technical knowledge over a two-and-a-half-year period.

 

Role

Participants will be placed in 4 different areas during the two half-year period starting in Chemicals moving to offshore and onshore Oil and Gas operations to moving into 6 months of project work.   After the two-and-a-half-year program, the candidate will be placed within the organization after collaboration from the Engineering and Training Steering Committee.

 

Rotational Scope

The goal throughout the program is to develop and enhance technical skills and gain an understanding of process engineering applications in Chemicals operations, Oil & Gas, and strategic Oxy projects.

  • Chemicals:

Participants will be placed for one (1) year at one of the chemical facilities to focus on specific technology and process units.  Within this rotation, individuals will build technical skillsets to support process engineering in Chemical plant operations and utilize opportunities to develop process troubleshooting, learn critical aspects of unit operation and to improve process areas and broaden exposure to chemical processes.

  • Oil and Gas – Onshore and Offshore:

Participants will be placed for six (6) months in the Oil & Gas onshore operations and six (6) months in the Oil & Gas offshore operations. Within the two (2) rotations, individuals will build a technical skillset to support process engineering, production engineering, and facility engineering in oil and gas operations.

  • Oxy Projects:

Participants will be placed for six (6) months in one of the Chemicals, Oil & Gas, and/or Low Carbon Ventures Oxy projects. The goal is to continue developing technical knowledge and skills to support key strategic projects.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Must maintain minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Must have a graduation date of May 2024
  • Must be willing to relocate, including an offshore assignment.

  • Various locations throughout the US, including offshore opportunities.
