Outdoor Education Intern

The primary goal for this internship is to grow as educators. The Glacier Institute’s seasoned educators will mentor interns and introduce them to the outdoor education field. Interns play an essential role in the operation of the Glacier Institute’s Big Creek Outdoor Education Center, our youth campus. The Glacier Institute specializes in place-based, hands-on learning of the natural sciences and cultural history, and interns are an integral part of ensuring that we achieve our mission. By the end of the season, interns will be able to co-teach Glacier institute classes under the mentorship of an Outdoor Education Specialist II. Applicants should know this is a demanding job with variable hours. Because of the unpredictable nature of our work, applicants need to know how to prioritize customer service in adverse conditions. Interns need to be motivated by the mission to strengthen connections to the natural world through outdoor education, and understand that investing in our participants is of utmost importance
