Environmental, Health, Safety Student Intern - Federal Ammunition

Job Description

Our Anoka, MN location is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Intern to add to our team for summer 2024.  The EHS Intern will support our Environmental and Safety teams at our Federal Ammunition plant in Anoka, MN.
  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•    Perform root cause analysis on safety related incidents and implement corrective actions. 
•    Perform Industrial Hygiene personal sampling such as lead, air borne particulate, noise dosimetry, etc.
•    Track incidents and compile data to support safety initiatives.
•    Perform Environmental sampling and inventories and reporting findings.
•    Perform Environmental and Safety audits
•    Scanning and filing documentation.


EXPERIENCE/JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 
Required:
•    Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Safety or sciences student in an accredited technical college or university.  
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills
•    Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
•    Proficient at handling and dealing with multiple priorities
•    Continuous improvement and results oriented
•    Strong interest in working for Federal Ammunition / Vista Outdoor. 
Desired:
•    Hands on experience with Job Hazard Analysis and Process Safety Management.
•    Experience with IH sampling equipment including calibration.
•    Experience interpreting OSHA and EPA regulations.
•    Small Caliber ammunition manufacturing experience 


ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
•    Monday thru Friday schedule (8-9 hour days)
•    Target internship dates: May 2024 - August 2024 (possibly longer depending on availability)
