Nature Program Head | Camp Wawenock

Join a team of other Activity Heads learning and working within the structure of a well-established teaching system at a traditional overnight girls' camp in Maine

Serve as the ‘lead’ instructor in classes and mentor and support the other staff in their teaching, through weekly meetings and conversations

Design and develop, with guidance, a seven-week instructional program that typically includes, but is not limited to:

exploration and discovery on camp’s 100 acres (including vernal pools, forest land, stream and lakeshore habitat)
day hikes in the local area
on and offsite overnight (group and solo) camping experiences
fire building and outdoor cooking
First Aid skills
basic compass/map skills
other areas of interest that staff want to include, e.g., gardening, plant and tree identification, raft building, etc.
