Software Engineer - Intern

Perspect is a technology-builder productivity & impact platform that doesn’t suck. Traditional developer productivity platforms don’t actually provide value to the individual developer, instead only providing value to a manager. Not only do they not provide value to the individual developer, they also tend to lean too heavily on metrics that (1) don’t paint the whole picture and (2) are easily gamed. Perspect is turning the way developer’s productivity is measured upside down. 

 

Early customers have seen increases in flow-state / deep work, higher impact in their companies, and improvement in their technical craft.

 

We strongly believe that people, especially technology builders, want to create value with their work. Nobody wakes up in the morning excited to waste time. Perspect tracks how these builders spend their time and surfaces that data back to these builders in a gamified way that nudges the developer to get more deep-work no matter what(for example, incentivizing deep work time). 

Teams who use Perspect have their productivity boosted from the bottom up, not from a manager shoving metrics down from the top.
 

Responsibilities
 

  • Design, develop, test, and continuously improve Perspect experience
  • Solve unique, large-scale, highly complex technical problems
  • Build the next-generation developer impact measurement platform
  • Work with your mentor to deliver product features and make engineering improvements;
  • Build world-class web applications that combine usability, accessibility, elegance, performance, and maintainability.

Qualifications
 

  • Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Graduate/Master or trade/dev school
  • Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2024
  • Experience with coding in Javascript (React), NodeJS, SQL, or Python
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Compensation: $25-$40/hr

Preference will be given to individuals who use the platform and individuals who get the top 4 average flow state will be guaranteed an interview.
