About the Position:

The incumbent, under the direction of a Senior Transportation Engineer, Caltrans, may serve as a lead person in the preparation of project initiation documents (PIDs). Duties include developing the design concept, scope, schedule, and estimated cost of a project. The incumbent may also provide quality assurance for locally funded projects initiated by agencies external to the Department. Knowledge of highway design standards and project development processes such as the Manual for Transportation Control Devices is essential.
