Join our team to address critical statewide water supply needs by permitting new water supplies from recycled water! The North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board has one new position for Water Resource Control Engineers dedicated to recycled water in our Groundwater Permitting Unit. We offer a flexible work schedule and telework with periodic in-person attendance at the office and field work. There are two possible offices from which the employee could work, one of which would be chosen by the employee at the time of hire. One office is in Santa Rosa, located at 5550 Skylane Blvd. Suite A, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409, and the other is in Eureka, located at 930 6th St., Eureka, CA, 95501.

Duties:
Under the close supervision of a Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), the incumbent will perform engineering technical work related to the Board’s implementation of the Recycled Water Policy and Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR) Program, consistent with California’s Water Supply Strategy to improve water resilience through increasing recycled water use. Using their knowledge of engineering principles and water resources management relating to treatment and recycling of sewage and other wastewaters, the incumbent will evaluate, review, check, and interpret permit applications, engineering reports, specifications, and monitoring data; issue recycled water permits; inspect recycled water facilities and use areas; prepare reports; and draft orders for Board consideration.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
