Summer Outdoors Entry Level Jobs

Get paid to work outdoors, acquire new skills, learn about biology and public health while making an impact in the quality of life in the Salt Lake City area.

Responsibilities: Inspecting for and treating areas containing mosquito larvae; sampling of mosquitoes from various habitats; tracking daily activities and entering data using handheld GPS equipment. Possible work opportunities include - working on ATV’s, being part of a bicycle team, surveying trees for sources of mosquitoes and delivering mosquito-eating fish to SLC residents.

Time Commitment: 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, no weekends or evenings required, flexible start and ending dates ranging from late April to August 31, with potential to extend further.

About Us: The Salt Lake City Mosquito Abatement District (SLCMAD) is a local governmental entity serving the citizens of Salt Lake City. The mission of the SLCMAD is the enhancement of health and quality of life through the suppression of mosquito transmitted diseases and the reduction of nuisance levels caused by biting mosquitoes.
