Supply Chain Management / Warehouse Management Intern

As a Supply Chain Management/Warehouse Management Intern, you’ll be immersed in a highly technical and quality-driven environment to help achieve our standards of supply chain and manufacturing excellence. Through a rotation of our functions, you’ll learn our operations, how they apply to supply chain and how supply chain interacts with other factory functions, such as production, engineering, information systems, quality assurance, finance and human resources. On the warehouse side, you’ll learn space usage and inventory optimization to create innovative solutions. Collaborating with your supply chain mentor and peers is essential to this role, as they will help you leverage your new business knowledge to deliver top-notch supply chain analysis and support to the business unit for the duration of your program experience. 

Job Summary:

Job scope may include corporate projects and initiatives, data analysis, production planning/scheduling, negotiation, sourcing and buying. This position will report directly to the VP-Supply Chain and will have a local sponsor and mentor at the location of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Supply Chain Management to define needs and courses of action
  • Analyze spend data to determine opportunities for improvement
  • Work as part of a project team to improve supply chain processes
  • Reduce costs and create measurable value
  • Supplier discovery, development, selection, and sourcing
  • Manage MNDA terms
  • Assist with contract negotiations
  • Interpret BOMs and issue drawings and related documentation to suppliers
  • All other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant field
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings (machining and fabrication)
  • General understanding of materials, machining and fabrication processes
  • Ability to cope with customer driven ever changing schedules
  • Knowledge of MRP and ERP business systems
  • Able to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Autodesk Inventor, and SAP/B1 highly desirable
  • Sense of urgency, Self-starter, Analytical
