About the Position:

Under the general direction of a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the Construction Engineer directs the work of and supervises the personnel of the Construction Engineering Field Support Unit. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating Construction Storm Water Coordinators, Construction Safety Coordinators, Technology Coordinator, Materials Research Engineering Associate, and Complete Streets/ADA Coordinator of high difficulty relating to transportation construction and engineering for District 5 Construction. Also serves as the Small Business Advocate for Construction. The Senior Transportation Engineer must execute the portion of the Caltrans construction activities assigned and is accountable for the performance of the assigned construction employees.
