New Graduate Electrical/Computer Engineer – Rugged Embedded Computing Solutions

Coda Octopus Colmek Inc., a division of Coda Octopus Group, is a certified small business in search of an new graduate Electrical or Computer Engineer who can design, build, and test board stacks, PCBs, and PCBAs for rugged military computing solutions.  Colmek creates rugged electronics and embedded computing solutions for military and commercial customers.  Our small team of experienced and dedicated engineers work on programs spanning sustainment of legacy military electronics to new development using the latest state-of-the-art technologies.

Job Description

In this role, you will design, simulate, build, test, and troubleshoot analog, digital, power electronics and mixed signal electronic circuits that will be implemented into new and existing rugged computer product lines.

This role may also require work estimations for proposals.

Main Job Functions

• Performs technical refreshes on existing rugged computers and electronics.
• Design, develops and implements testing methods, software and equipment.
• Design, build, and troubleshoot electronic circuits in a lab environment to include: analog, digital, mixed-signal and power electronics.
• Architect, collaborate, create specs and design documentation for large scale test systems with a cross-functional team located in multiple locations.
• Provide engineering support and guidance for new and existing product lines.
• Work Closely with customers, including occasional travel to jobsites for up to a week at a time.
• Enjoy working with a diverse, motivated and knowledgeable team in a small company setting where you may wear multiple hats at a time.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Experience in the development of electronics, PCBA’s and PCB’s.
• Schematic and board tools experience, preferably Altium.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.
• Thorough understanding of modern PC technology, peripherals and buses.
• Extensive hands-on lab experience; including building PCBA’s and cables, system bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting to the component level.
• Experience with a wide variety of electronics test equipment.
• Ready to design and build test jigs and test fixtures
• Ready to transition designs from development into production, and support.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US security clearance.
