Field Service Engineer

(DHA) – U.S.A.-affiliate of DISCO, headquartered in San Jose, California, is seeking applicants to join the Equipment Engineering /Field Service Engineering team as a Field Service Engineer in the Easton, PA area.

This position will require local limited travel between our customers and the PA office.
 

Overview Description

Key Responsibilities
After sufficient training, candidates will be able to:
- Perform equipment installations, preventative maintenances, malfunction troubleshooting, along with various other services and repairs at customer sites on DISCO grinding, dicing, and laser equipment
- Troubleshoot independently through rigorous electrical / mechanical procedural sequences
- Efficiently document analytical steps and root causes for both internal team and customers
- Become more familiar on how DISCO equipment are used in manufacturing process flows and associated performance characterization techniques
- Closely interact with customers to maintain relationships by being a reliable support both on-site and off-site (via email/phone)
- Train customer’s personnel in servicing, maintenance, and operations of DISCO products
- Handle various equipment elements including robotics, cameras, electrical motor components, as well as using computer software.
- Contribute in research and development of new equipment hardware, signal instrumentations, and software systems
- Participate and contribute to DISCO corporate activities focusing on deeper thinking, value exchange, and constant improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned


Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Lift and carry or otherwise move at least 30lbs
- Position one-self to work on harder to reach areas on DISCO machines
- Traveling to and from customer sites and office
- Wear personal protective gear for longer durations of time
 

Qualifications
Desired Functional Knowledge
Candidates with:
- A strong aptitude and repair skills toward electro/mechanical components
- Knowledge of common lab instrumentations like multi-meters, oscilloscopes
- Knowledge making, reading, and interpreting CAD drawings and electrical diagrams
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office and Windows software
- General computer programming
- Knowledge of semiconductor processes, lasers fundamentals, or optics fundamentals
- Knowledge of semiconductor industrial engineering and operations
Leadership
A leader who:
- Is willing to lead peers in a cross-matrix fashion on projects in areas of technology development or organizational efficiency improvements
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less knowledge on any particular subject matter [general engineering principles, computer science etc.]
Interpersonal Skills
A team player who:
- Is a strong team contributor; helps build team consensus and prioritize team’s expectations and needs to streamline project flow
- Possesses clear, concise, and timely communication skills
- Is able to maintain high self-motivation and persevere under pressure
- Will build upon DISCO’s culture that comprises a camaraderie across all social / cultural / geological separations to help build an inclusive work environment
- Is personable and approachable as well-rounded professional
- Bachelor of Science degree in any discipline is welcome
- 2 - 4 years of applicable working experience is a plus
- Mechanical hands on experience in the HVAC, Automotive, or a similar industry is beneficial

- $50,000 - $70,000 per year
