ETS’s Government Relations Division is looking for a summer Intern, with the possibility of an extension, for 15-20 hours per week. This Internship offers an opportunity to gain experience in the state, federal, and international teacher preparation, licensure and quality policy areas. Interns will have the opportunity to witness the political process firsthand by attending hearings, meetings, and forums on Capitol Hill at the U.S. Department of Education and other education stakeholder groups. When applicable, the intern will aid the Government Relations team in conducting and compiling research and reports that are relevant to ETS’s work in Professional Educator Programs.
Scope of work:
- Conduct and/or compile research related to teacher licensure, certification and evaluation.
- Attend education-related events on Capitol Hill, USED and around Washington, DC
- Prepare reports and summaries
- Assist in monitoring federal and state legislation
- Set up and support meetings, forums and presentations
- Assist all members of GR staff as needed
Experience and Skills
Qualifications: Candidate must possess excellent written, verbal and technical skills in order to support a variety of projects. Candidates should also demonstrate an understanding of the ETS mission, the importance of internal and external relationships, have an interest in education and possess a superior work ethic. Proposed work dates and schedule to be determined.
