PRECAST DESIGN ENGINEER INTERN

Job Description
The position of Precast Design Engineer Intern will provide the candidate a diverse experience in the various areas of a precast concrete operation. This will include safety, quality control, field operations, engineering, estimating. The Precast Engineering Intern will report to the Drafting and Design Manager.

Learning Objectives
• Mentorship and Coaching from experienced precast personnel in their given areas of expertise.
• Quality Control & Concrete Testing 
• Basic Prestress Concrete Design
• Estimating Takeoffs
• Safety
• Plant Fabrication
• Field Operations
• Exposure to Contract Documents and Precast Shop Drawings

Minimal Qualifications
• Junior or Higher pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis Preferred)
• Completed a course in Basic Concrete Design 
• Possess basic knowledge of various building codes and design standards such as IBC, ASCE 7 ACI 318, AISC, PCI.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of MathCAD, F.E.M. Software, and can easily learn various engineering software programs used for design
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit Preferred)
