Manufacturing Engineer

Vertiv is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Delaware, OH to provide manufacturing support for new product introductions, product transfers, and the identification, selection, and execution of process improvement projects.  Assist in the development of problem-solving tools and methodologies to foster continuous process improvement.  Provide technical support as required for manufacturing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Process Improvement Projects - Collect and analyze data in the identification and selection, plan, document, and track deliverables in the execution. Assist in fostering a culture of continuous improvement through participating in target condition setting and identification and resolution of obstacles. Assist in the performance of benchmarking studies of new manufacturing technology for existing processes.
  • Provide data for capital budgeting decisions and prepare appropriation requests for capital equipment acquisitions for review and approval.   Participate in execution of capital equipment acquisition, acceptance, installation, commissioning and launch process.
  • Conduct manufacturing capacity and constraint analysis. Support manufacturing operations as required. Document, review, and update work instructions and other supporting manufacturing documentation. Recommend staffing levels.
  • Verify Bill of Materials and drawing accuracy for new and existing products. Support cost studies for new products and processes.
  • Review, submit for approval, and support the implementation of engineering change notices. Track manufacturing change orders and change requests.
  • Provide technical support, as required.
  • Project management skills.
  • Assist in the development of time standards and establish routings for special features and products. Promote process standardization and process discipline.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Proficient in MS office.
  • Ability to design special tooling, develop and manufacturing processes, and assess new manufacturing technologies.
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to learn and apply new skills quickly
  • Possesses a strong work ethic and sets high standards for quality and quantity of work

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or other relevant degree preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent Standing

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Protective Equipment Required: Safety shoes and safety glasses.

TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED 

  • Up to 10%
