Process Control Engineer

Process Control Engineer 

 

 

Location- Norwalk, CT

King Industries, Inc. is actively seeking to hire a Process Controls Engineer within our Engineering Department. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and enjoy solving problems and developing/implementing process automation in a chemical processing plant environment.

 

Skills Required:

  • Practical experience with field instrumentations and controls, plus field communications and wiring (flow, level, temperature, pressure, control valves...).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot existing installations and configure new installations and upgrades.
  • Excellent organization skills, persistence, good judgment, and attention to details.
  • Ability to work well in collaborative team environment (including but not limited to, other process control engineers, project engineers, electricians, and maintenance staff). 
  • Self-motivated, Hands-on, and always eager to learn new technologies and provide practical solutions to process control challenges.

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience in process controls design and troubleshooting in the chemical process industry.
  • Knowledge of DCS network and field communications (Siemens PCS-7, Rockwell,.)
  • Ability to plan and implement automation projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with designing and implementing process control strategies in a plant wide DCS network environment.
  • Provide instrumentation and process control strategy and practical solutions for new process engineering projects and process upgrades.

 

  • Develop or assist with developing process control systems, controls logic, field wiring and communications for new process automation projects and upgrades.
  • Specify and procure instruments.

 

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate control systems and instruments in the plant.
  • Help design, program, and troubleshoot distributed control systems. 
  • Assist with providing and maintaining wiring diagrams.
  • Provide guidance on process control solutions and participate in  process hazards reviews (PHAs) as assigned.
