Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for our Buildings & Structures Practice in Houston, TX. In this role you will work as part of a team to perform field investigations and diagnostic surveys, perform structural analysis, review structural designs, assess structural risk, and maintain client relations. Assignments will require the ability to gather information from and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and industry.
You will be responsible for
- Inspection, analysis, and determination of root causes of structure and building performance problems
- Reviewing the design of structures according to applicable codes and standards
- Conducting computer analysis of structural systems
- Performing field investigations and diagnostic surveys
- Preparing technical reports and presentations
- Continued professional development towards establishing professional expertise
You will have the following skills and qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related engineering field is strongly preferred. M.S. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field will be considered only with significant relevant work experience
- P.E., S.E. license or the ability to become licensed within two years in at least one state
- Creative problem-solving ability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong desire to work in a fast-paced consulting environment
