Process Improvement Professional

Position reports to the Process Improvement Manager

  1. Experimentals
    1. Insure optimum machine settings.
    2. Work with development engineer to insure weave-ability.
    3. Approve adoption to production style.

 

  1. Quality coming off looms
    1. Approval to re-start looms (tag system)
    2. See cloth from problem machines at inspection.
    3. Investigate, implement, and follow up on corrective action.
    4. Review and disposition of non-conformance

 

  1. Greige inspection follow-up
    1. Respond to pages from Inspection Department (as well as supervisor)
    2. Check out problem loom:  report finding to weaver.
    3. Develop and maintain greige grading specs.

 

  1. Assist weave with quality follow-up procedures.
    1. Audit of weave quality inspection at Inspection
    2. Audit of on-loom quality
    3. Audit new warps tied to insure proper start-up.

 

  1. Chronic loom follow-up (Compu-trol)
    1. High stops by chronic machines and style
    2. Directs chronic loom specialist (production associates)

 

  1. Stop level improvement
    1. Work from I.E. information (frequency check)
    2. Experiment with settings
    3. Work with supplier on warps and yarn problems

 

  1. Extensive knowledge of incoming materials
    1. Properties and composition of raw material
    2. Knowledge of prior processes:  warping, slashing, beaming, texturized and spun yarn.
    3. Evaluation and optimizing

 

  1. Evergreen
    1. Constant awareness and emphasis on potential Evergreens to include energy reduction.

 

 

 

  1. Organize and monitor statistical quality control
    1. On incoming material
    2. Process in plant
    3. Products in plant

 

  1.  Miscellaneous work
    1. Salvage development
    2. Salvage waste reduction
    3. Improve material handling.

 

 

Qualifications - Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and analytical skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook.

 

Qualifications - Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline preferred (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, any)
  • Previous manufacturing experience (intern, co-op, or fulltime)
  • Management or Leadership experience
