Hardware Engineer (Summer Co-op)

As a Hardware Engineering Intern at Verkada, you’ll contribute to the design and development of new cameras, access control systems, sensors, and other enterprise IoT products. Verkada’s Hardware Engineers own all aspects of the electrical design from prototype through to mass production. You’ll make a big impact — your designs will be a part of future products that Verkada ships. 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with experienced engineers to design, debug, and validate our hardware products
  • Design and execute experiments to test new circuit concepts
  • Schematic capture and layout for systems and/or test boards
  • Learn to work with our manufacturing partners to drive ongoing improvements to efficiency

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields
  • Available for a Summer Co-Op, preferably for an extended term (4-8 months)
  • Experience with electronic test equipment, schematic design, and board level validation
  • Strong communication skills and desire to be hands-on

Pay Disclosure

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting base pay may be above or below this range. Base pay is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Estimated Hourly Pay Range

$45—$45 USD
