SMT Operator- 2nd Shift

Spartronics is growing rapidly with manufacturing locations domestically in Logan UT, Williamsport PA, Brooksville FL, Watertown SD, Strongsville OH, Plaistow NH, and Internationally in Mexico and Vietnam.


 

SMT Operator– Reports to Production Manager - Logan, Utah


 

Job Summary: SMT Operators perform a limited range of production work that is semi-repetitive in nature. They perform low to medium-complexity hand soldering, mechanical assembly, and/or machine operation.


 

Essential Job Functions

  • Hand solders electronic assemblies
  • Performs electro-mechanical assembly
  • Operates manufacturing equipment
  • Enters product tracking data
  • Inspects products to quality standards

 

Requirements

 

Education

  • High school diploma or GED
  • J-Std. certification (preferred) Will be required to obtain certification during the first 90 days of employment


 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Ability to read and understand complex work instructions
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Hand tool operation experience (preferred)
  • Strong mechanical operation and troubleshooting aptitude


 

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting: Up to 50 lbs, Team lifts over 50 lbs
  • Reaching: Overhead, frequently
  • Fine Motor Skills: Prolonged and repetitive soldering. Requires gripping, twisting, and pinching with both hands and fingers
  • Repetitive twisting at the waist

Work Schedule

  • The planned schedule is a 4-day/10-hour work week.
  • Shift 2: Mon - Th 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM
  • Overtime: The goal is to limit overtime, but it is a reality in manufacturing.
