Financial Representative Internship for Spring 2024 College Graduates

We're looking to connect with upcoming c/o 2024 college graduates who are excited to enter the workforce and start their career in Honolulu - We are now selecting candidates for our June 17th, 2024 start date.

*This is an in-person internship. APPLICANTS MUST HAVE AN EXISTING ADDRESS ON O'AHU.*

 

Are you interested in getting professional work experience while staying in Hawai'i? If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, want real-world business experience and are looking to make a difference, then our post-college program at Northwestern Mutual in Downtown Honolulu could be right for you.

At Northwestern Mutual, Financial Representatives strive to understand their clients' goals and visions to uncover financial solutions that put them on a path to achieve their financial objectives.  Our Financial Representatives, who come from varying academic backgrounds and experiences, begin to build a financial planning practice while employing local and nationwide experts, exclusive financial products, and the support of a Fortune 100 company. This program will extend into a full-time opportunity upon successful completion within four months of your graduation date.

As a Financial Representative, you will:

  • Build your client base through prospecting and networking
  • Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand their financial goals
  • Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations
  • Gain exposure to planning software platforms
  • Get licensed with your Life, Accident, and Health insurance license
  • Participate in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings

Are you a fit for this program?

  • Full-time student; graduating in May 2024 or June 2024
  • Entrepreneurial and curiosity for sales
  • Highly involved on campus (leader, campus orgs, student government, etc.)
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Interest in financial literacy and planning tools
  • Business savvy

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Commissions
  • 12-week Intern Incentive (Up to $3,000)
  • Productivity Bonuses
  • Support for insurance licensing (life, health, DI, LTC)
  • Support for SIE, Series 6, Series 63 registrations (eligibility required)

Along the way, you will have mentoring support that goes beyond just supervision and business coaching that leads you to success. And, if you are looking for leadership roles, you can work toward a position as a College Unit Director or Team Captain, giving you a jump start on the leadership track.
