Postdoctoral scholar - UCSF - iPSC disease modeling

The Maher Lab at UCSF is in search of a postdoctoral scholar with a specific interest in iPSC-based disease modeling. Our group is using patient-derived iPSCs to model human metabolic liver disease. We are looking for a candidate with either existing experience or a strong desire to learn iPSC culture and differentiation and apply it to a large cohort of patient-derived iPSCs. Our research involves collaboration with two other UCSF labs, which together form a close network of dedicated research staff.

Required skills: PhD in a biological science, working knowledge of cell biology and cell culture, experience with biochemical and molecular assays (e.g. QPCR) and cell imaging

Preferred skills: One or more of the following: Experience with molecular biology and/or epigenetics (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq) and related data analysis, variant calling, gene editing

Expected responsibilities: iPSC culture and differentiation on a large scale (patient cohorts) along with downstream molecular and functional studies of differentiated cells
