Rotational Engineer 1 - Chemical

The Plant Engineering organization provides engineering oversight, program support, and qualified staff to support the Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) mission. Near term support is provided by the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC).  The mission includes safely storing, treating, and immobilizing the highly hazardous radiological wastes created during prior periods of nuclear processing at the Hanford Reservation. The Plant Engineering organization and programs provide the framework for executing engineering work. Plant Engineering personnel are responsible for the technical adequacy of Plant Engineering products and decisions.

Rotational Engineers will be in a two-year program in which they will rotate through various groups within Plant Engineering, completing assignments, and gaining experience.  Assignments will include resolution of technical challenges, completing engineering work products, review of other’s completed work products, and working in a team mindset to help accomplish the goals of Plant Engineering and WTCC.  Rotational assignments may include System Engineer, Procurement Engineer, Project Engineer, Flowsheet Engineer, and Design Engineer positions, depending on individual skills, desires, and group needs.  It is expected that rotational engineers will challenge themselves and grow their professional capabilities as they begin their engineering careers, becoming ever more valuable members of the Engineering team.  Upon completion of this program, these engineers will be eligible for advancement and are expected to be placed into open positions within Plant Engineering or may apply to other positions within the WTP project.

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university

Experience:

Minimum of two years of professional experience

Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft application suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)
